Default Brute force 650 or Sp 700 EFI?

Hey all. I found these 2 both about the same price OTD in some searching and have narrowed it down to these 2 for my money. The Brute is a 2006 and SP700 efi a 2005. I'm leaning towards the SP due to the better headlights, EFI, better racks and storage, build quality (look at their online brochure and look at the driveshaft and wheel hub pics vs the competition and you'll know what I mean), they weigh 160 lbs more for a reason right? I also hear the ole P650's were tough as nails and that the brute is a mere clone just refined. I'm asking those who know, or own one of these, to chime in on what whould you do if you could do it all over again? I had my mind set on the Brute but once I saw how low a certain dealer lowered their prices on the Sp I'm unsure now. I plan on mostly trail riding with my 15 and 16 yr old and eventually adding a plow setup. I'm on a 5800 dollar budget as she freaked on that much even. Thanks in advance, Brian

First of all, if you can get a new 06 700 sportsman EFI for $5800, you must be a smooth talker. I recently bought a 05 700 efi in chatanooga TN, which is supposed to be the cheapest place to get a polaris, for $5900. I havent rode a brute but i hear that Polaris ride is much smoother that the brute. Also you'll have more storage room on the SP. Th SP is true 4 wheel drive, not 3 wheel like most other bikes (again, im not sure about a brute). The stock tires that come on a SP is very aggressive as well, no need to buy aftermarket tires. Ummm. what else.... o yeah, about the cv axles, dont get me wrong i love my SP, but i had a front axle break within the first 2 weeks of having it and i hear that this is common due to the weight and the power of the 700. If the front tires are in the air and spinning, when they hit the ground with about 760lbs on them they want to keep spinning and the ground wants them to stop. Which will win??? Just thought iv give u my 2 cents on my 700efi. I love it and wouldnt take it back for anything.

Actually the sportsman is a 2005 holdover that they're only asking $4990.00 plus tax title, etc. The 2006 Brute is $5299.00 plus tax, etc. Some pretty good deals in my opinion. Brian

Sounds like you've got it figured out pretty well from your original post. SP is better all around. Only reason for the BF is if power & speed is most important, the V-twin will kick butt.
