I'm looking at a 86 350 but don't know much about them. I know the 300's were good but how were there 350's. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I had an 89 350 and loved the power of it. It was a really nice quad. It road like a corn sled, but had power to make up for the poor ride. They have a wide turning radius, I guess due to the straight axle design up front. I ride with a few people that have them, and the most problem I've ever seen from them is the fuel pump on them. If you like the quad and think its for you then go for it. They are great quads, and have that good ol honda reliability.

A good machine for certain tasks. I had an '87 that was very reliable and powerful. It will go much faster than the suspension can handle. I wish my Wolverine had the Honda motor in it. It is more for utility than trail riding with sport machines. After a day of fast riding on rough trails you are beat. Using it for tractor jobs like snow plowing and pulling it was great.

The two negative points of the TRX 350 are the rough ride of the front swingarm suspension and the unsealed/manual adjust front brakes. I never used the front brakes because after a weekend of mud they needed readjusting. It wasn't a problem.

I had trouble starting mine if it sat for more than a week or so. It needed a little shot of gas through the carb. The only thing I replaced on mine was the cam chain tensioner, not a big repair.

I have a 86 350 4x4 It is a good reliable machine it will climb a hill with the best of them. The only draw back to the machine is it not very stable in off camber climbs it is kinda tipsy which can be dangerous. The steering is also a bit rough, it likes plow through a corner a lot worse than the newer machines. But other than that mine has been a great machine I use it for hunting and working a round the house. Pulling trees hauling mulch anythhing I fing to crank it up and play. Mine has always started with no problems but I make sure to use a premium grade of gass.

I would buy a 300 first, but i want to buy one to make it into a all-out-mudder.

The 300 as far better suspension.

One word, BULLETPROOF. Before I bought my 400ex, I used my 86 350 as if it was my 400ex. That thing went through hell and back, multiple times! The only thing I replaced was Bearings in the front and rear. You can see pics of it on my web page.
