I just purchased an 88 tecate 4 that was all in pieces and stored away for about 7yrs. I am waiting on the manual but right now i need a few parts which i know are missing.

1. The clutch: release-comp-clutch, its the piece that slides down into the right side case so the clutch engages and disengages when using. Since tecate parts are such a PITA to find would a KX250 part of the same year work? They have the same reference number on the kawa website but the part numbers are a tad off. The tecate PN is 13102-1096 and the KX is 13102-1094, is there even a difference between the parts or is it just because one is an ATV and the other is a MX bike?

2. The powervalve is missing a piece, the internals are there but i'm missing the piece that goes into the side case as well to allow it to move up and down, same situation, will a KX250 part work?

Hope some one can help and if these parts can interchange, what other KX parts will work as well? Thanks

am i missing something or is that tecateconnection outdated and not really have any info? I been looking at the site and it doesnt seem to include to much info about anything. There is a part that says tecate forum at the top but its not a clickable tab like the rest, the online store doesnt do much as you click on something your interested in and it gives you a picture. Am i missing something?

 

everything is together just need a suspension set-up, cant find the original shocks that were boxed away as of now but hopefully tuesday the previous owner will find them in storage. Anyone know if another suspension set-up from any other ATV's will bolt right in?

 

On ebay there is some a-arms and shocks for sale for the 1987 to 1988 tecate 4, I dont know if anything else bolts up to these sorry. Hope this helps

 

yeah i saw that, If the previous owner doesnt find the shocks which is all i need now then I will have to figure something out. *7 shocks are completely different from 88 so thats why i'm going for 88 shocks so everything on my t4 matches up. if not then I was thinking about adapting some other decent set of shocks from another atv
