Still enjoying my Eiger

I have to say, if you really are not one to get caught up in the power wars and the "Joneses" and you want a very manageable affordable Utility 4 x4 quad, the Eiger is it IMHO. I got up to my cabin and found it to be buried in snow. I was unable to get down my driveway with my truck. I ran down, fired up the Quad after it had sat for 2 months and plowed my driveway clean in about 20 minutes.

Glad you like the Eiger...they are a great steed aren't they?
I'm in a power war (I'm fighting the machine for more power...LMAO) and it's holding its own for me too....I only have two complaints, my wheel bearings seem to be wearing fast, could be due to mud, but I don't mud often, and I keep getting crap in the carb....other then that I love my bike too.

rols,
I have liked my Eiger since the day I picked it up. I went and looked at all of them back in late 03 Kaw, Polaris, Honda, Yam. Suzuki had the best features but yet simple runner. I struggled early with a lean condition but, from this forum, overcame it and now it just runs. I might toss some wheels on it as the argent gray wheels do not do it justice. I might paint them black.
Anyway just wanted to report back.

I painted my wheels black, and I'm really happy with it. Makes them look a little bigger and tougher.
Wheel bearings affected by mud? Nahhh, I've been in SERIOUS STUFF, and haven't had any probs. I have a little over 1000 miles on mine, no probs yet. You just musta got some bad ones, or maybe the seals were installed incorrectly.
I even ride the dunes, with ooodles of sand everywhere. You'd think that would cause problems, but, no.

I love my Eiger too, it hasn't failed me yet. The only thing that sucks is every one I ride with, and hang around with have either Sportquads, or MX Dirtbikes... It just sucks because I can't keep up, and do some of the hills and jumps that they can, thus, I am left sitting on the Eiger and watching.
I am really debating, selling and getting a sportquad because of my situation. But if I was to get a utility, it wouldn't be a Big Bore, it'd strictly be the Eiger, that's how good it is.

I ride in some pretty nasty coal mud and dust. I had to replace my front bearings after about 900 or 1000 miles. The seals were completely gone. Get aftermarket ones. Sealed much better. Got well over 1700 miles on it now and they are still clean as can be.

I love mine too, comin up on one year of owning it this month, got about 900 miles on it. It takes all the abuse I can give it. Only thing I've really messed up on it is bent up my front bumper a bit, and shattered a A-arm guard on some ice. I just fabbed up some diamond plate ones today actually. They look pretty slick, and provide a ton more protection I'd say, made em long enough to wrap around the entire arm. This is my first quad, and I couldn;t have asked for more. Sure it isn't a big bore, but it's got plenty of power, agile, and will crawl out of just about anything I've plowed through.

Talk about love at 1st sight. Darn, I love my Eiger to. Now, I don't have hardly any miles on mine compared to any of y'all but I really enjoy it ! No, it isn't a "big bore" but its got plenty of power for me. Goes up and over the hills of western Md. with no problem. And man can it plow snow! Functional and simplistic! Anyway, just wanted put in my 2 cents.

I hear what you guys are saying about having enough power and speed, I ride with my brother on his 700 Sportsman and find that it takes quite a bit of straight trail for all that power to help him pull away from me on my Eiger. Once you factor in the body roll he has with IRS the Eiger just corners alot faster than his 750 lb. beast. Even he was impressed with the Eigers performance, although he finds it frustrating that he can't shake me on the tighter technical trails.
