Default Fuel Smell

Lookin for some answers. I jus recently grabbed an 04 500 Auto from a dealer....havnt bother to check on this yet with them but wanted to look here 1st. Not always, but often enuff to notice I smell a lil fuel....mostly when Im jus crawlin around the woods and in heavy ruff terrain...rocks & mud. I've climbed off the machine a few times...looked around an found nothing.....no leaks, drippage nothing. Ant Suggestions?
Thanks in Advance Guys.

Check the fuel lines and also the tank vent line. If the vent line is loose on the tank you could get a slight dribble onto the engine where the heated evaporation will be very distinct. More common from the jerky motion as you describe vs. running down trails and roads.

Be very carefull. Unless you have recently consumed a large amount of liquid you may not have the resources to extinquish a fire. And that plastic burns up quick. I actually mount a fire extinquisher on each of my quads.
