Whats faster KFX700 or Bomb.800?
#1
I'm kind of new to quads and I was thinking about getting a KFX 700. I've ridin my buddies Bombadier 800 he just got last week and my other friend has an Arctic Cat 650. Is the 700 about as fast as the Bomb.?

The 700 would be just as fast, and if it wasnt as fast, the price difference between the V and the Bomb is outrageous. You could mod the 700 with the money you saved and then it would be way faster.

I know the handling will be much better. How is it for trail riding? I like to do some light mud as well. I would think with it being pretty heavy (for a sport) that with good tires on the back, it would go through everything except huge holes, am I right? I barely ever use 4x4 with my buddies quads. Plus, I like to jump a little more than they do and I feel like I'm gonna break theirs when I do it. What's the reliabilty of these machines. My one friend swears by Kawasaki. Do these live up to the reputation?
Thanks in advance guys!

Just a little help for you...I have a kfx 700 that is stock and my uncle the new bomb 800. Off the line I will get him everytime but at about 60mph he starts to pull and pass me. I do believe that is only because of the weight difference. As far as jumping it, that is up to you, the bomb is a big beast, I like it, but it is not for me.

For trail riding it is AWESOME. No gears to shift and tons of power. You can climb any hill -- believe me, I've done it, including once by accident.
Jumping is doable but remember that it is a 516 lb machine.

I can tell you stock for stock the KFX wont even touch the bomb, I've got a dyna in my brute and it will eat my buddys KFX 700 (stock) with 27" tires on the brute. after leaving the line at about 25 or 30 the KFX starts gaining and gaining quick , then when you hit about 55 its nose to nose and at the end the KFX will outrun me if I've got my 27's on, if its my stock tires it sees nothing but my tailights.

I can tell you stock for stock the KFX wont even touch the bomb,
Lets do a little math.
Stock kfx weighs in at around 520lbs.
Stock Bomb 800 weights in at around 640.
These are both dry weights and when you wet them out the Bomb will weigh in at even more of a difference.
It's going to take a ton of HP to overcome a 120lb difference. The 800 is a fast quad no doubt, but it does not have a ton more power than the 700.
Stock for stock, rider for rider, the win will go the the 700.
ajd187 said what I was going to say about the trail deal, so I won't say any more about this.
