I've had to change bearings fairly often on the rear axle of our 300EX. Lots of fast rugged trail riding seems to trash them quickly.
Now the rear carrier keeps loosening up and I don't want to torque down those little pinch bolts excessively.

Any constructive ideas or experience appreciated - please hold the anecdotes. I've been looking at the Lone Star carrier/dual bearing setup, any experiences worth noting?.

Thanx,
R.W.

Go with the LoneStar carrier with the double row bearings. The bearings are almost excactly twice as wide as the stock bearings. Or there are some other aftermarket carriers that use the wider bearings, just make sure that they work with the stock axle(most do).
