bayou 300 4x4 tensioner
#1
My engine was taping. Found it to be the timing chain. Here's the problem I back the adjustment screw all the way back out which stop the the noise. Now the screw won't go all the way in. Will this cause a problem or can I keep it running like that for a while.

It sounds like you might have inserted the tensioner push-rod wrong into the slot. The "flat" side of the rod MUST face 12 o'clock position. Also, it helps if you stretch the spring little bit to make it little longer (stronger) so that it can push harder on the cam chain. Or you can insert a right size metal ball (from any ball bearing) at the end of the spring to increase the tension on the spring. Once you install the rod and the spring into the tensioner body, they will take up any slack on the chain. Then you tighten the locking bolt on the top of the tensioner body.
