First check with your local DNR to see what decib levels they have and if you need to have a spark arrestor.
Then I would buy a twin air or Uni air filter. and jet as needed. You may go a few miles an hour faster.

i do need a spark arrestor and id like to have the option for a quieter pipe, i saw hmf has a quiet core, could someone enlighten me on this and how it works? whats the difference between the twin air type filter and say a K&N filter?

thanks

im running a uni air filter and jetted my bike on using the dyno stage 1 using jet 124 and i got alot of low end power 1-3 has killer power 4 5 are bout same or maybe little less but im running mudlites on my 00 rancher and i havet really had the room to wind it all way out on all 5 gears. I jetted my bike without the air filter then when i put it on it ran same so uni filters are decent.

I have 2 05 Rancher AT's, I have outgrown mine as well. I have looked at upgrading to a bigger quad but love the sporty feel of my 400. After everyone I have talked to and all the research I have done I am going to go with:

Big Gun Exhaust
Dyno Jet Kit
K&N Air Filter Kit (The Kit also replaces the metal inner core with a more open air flow pattern)
ITP Mud Lite XTR's w/ class C Wheels (25 Inch)
