Default Problems with 04' raptor 660r

The problem began after a day of long riding, at the end of the day after letting it cool for a bit i went to start it back up and it fired up fine and then began to stutter/backfire a bit and as soon as you get on the throttle it would cut out it kept doing that for a bit probably 2-3 and i think i flooded it and then it wouldn't start at all. I was told it could be clogged carbs, dirty or clogged jets or the valves out of adjustment, i was wondering if with a full tune up would this solve the problem of could there be something a bit more major that this if so could you please tell me what else can be wrong ! Also the shop that i asked about the tune-up said it would include an oil change, oil filter, spark plugs, valve adjustment all the carbs and jets or whatever it is cleaned, any adjustments that need to be made will be done for $250.oo, do you think this will fix my problem ???

Don't take it in for a tuneup before you clean the carbs. I had the same thing happen to me. I pulled the jets, cleaned them, blew air through them and the bike ran great after that. After you clean the jets, clean out the gas-can you use to fill your wheeler. I didn't and had to pull the carbs apart a 2nd time. If there is any dirt in the bottom of that can, I would bet that is where your problem came from.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.

there is no dirt at the bottom of the tank but the gas can is a bit nasty so i'm betting it's dirty jets or carbs, i'm not home right now but will be soon i'll do the work and let you guys know how things go

how do i check the reverse and parking brake sensor because the reverse light on the cluster deal flashes here and there without me even going into reverse but when it does start up it will run okay or pretty good and i really don't see it being the valves the bike has only about 30 hrs on it

Don't ever apologize for asking questions. That is what the forums are for. Lord knows I have asked my share. Good luck.
