have works shocks on raptor. should i switch to stock yfz shocks
#1
i have used triple rate works shocks on the front of my raptor and am considering selliing them and buying stock yfz shocks which are completely adjustable.what do you guys think i should do. the works are ok but i think they should be better. do you guys think the yfz shocks would be better? if anyone has yfz shocks on raptor how do you like them?

Yfz shocks can definatly b made better than works, depends witch works you have also. Also if you want I got a new set of 2005 Yfz shocks witch have never saw any elements.

I was confused as to why you would want to get rid of your works shocks until I saw yours don't have rezzies. The compression adjustment on my works triple rates makes them work much better than my friends yfz450. I also get more travel. Most Works shocks are setup so you can add a reservoir to the shock, but I don't know if you'll be able to get a compression adjustment as well unless you have the shocks' interior re-valved.

yea but by the time i spend all the money to do all that to make them as good as a yfz shock i could allready have yfz shocks for less money. i can sell my works for around 200 and buy yfz for around 200. i guess all i really need to know is are my works as good or worse than the yfz shocks. im thinking worse. but what do you think

There's advantages and disadvantages of both. The yfz shocks will probably handle jumps better, but they are valved for a wider machine, so the ride will be stiffer. The works are valved specifically for the raptor's weight and arm length, so they should have a smoother ride.

yea. i guess i never thought of that. i was hoping the extra frontend weight of the raptor would make yfz shocks softer. i also have my raptor widened in the front and rear. so this might help also

widening it would compensate for the valving, if you're disappointed with your works I don't see a reason that you shouldn't go for the yfz's then.
