Any Ride Report for AC 700
#1
Looking to see if anyone has any time on an AC 700. I just drove one in the parking lot this is what I found. I did not like the lag of the bottom end. I how ever like the rest of the machine. The IRS seems to be very stable no dipsy doodle as in other IRS machines or at least as bad. Not sure if I care for one brake lever handling both front and rear brakes. It started easy ran smooth had good ground clearance only short coming was the bottom lag. Does anyone have experience on the trails?

Wow, usually any and all new stuff hits the US market about 6 months ahead of the Canadian market. Thats great they hit both markets at the same time there's a feather in AC's cap.

Feather in their cap - I wish. They are just going after the "BIG BUCK$". They are using the old US exhange rate while the new rate has been around the $1.16 rate. The 700 efi is selling for $11,400 Cdn. That converts to $9804.76 at yesterdays exchange rate of 1.1627. One dealer told me that artic cat will not change their rates - it may confuse their customers with the prices already set in the books! Boy, wouldn't you be confused and upset it the "books" part would actually cost you less than it says?!?!

There is a few new owners of the 700 on arcticchat.com. I am taking a friend of mine to pick up his new 700 today. I will give you a report tonight on how it runs, if we don't get rained out this afternoon.

Moosicman,
Ouch at 11,400 plus 2 taxes that is rather high. I can't see the quad being worth much even with the pretty paint.

I have one picked it up last Thursday. Seems to run real well, took it to the mountains to check ditches and run it pretty hard for 30 miles. Never got hot and we were busting through crusted snow had to winch once and shovel once.
Starts good.
Other quad was a 06 honda rincon 680, I wish I would have bought anther one that machine is awesome. My 65 yr old dad rode it and all he did was put it in gear and go, no messing with the diff lock (automatic and worked great) no high and low range to mess with. We took turns breaking trail the Honda went as good if not better than the AC.
TO give the AC credit when I got back I checked the air pressure in the tires it bottomed my 8 pound gage so the dealer must not know how to use a pressure gauge. I put them down to 5 PSI and it is like a whole new machine for ride.
The tread on the tires is terrible it just fills with mud and will not clean at speeds under 20 mph.
I paid 8000.00 even for mine
