Default Need IMMEDIATE help please!!!

My Raptor 660 is spitting, sputtering and back-firing. My brother and I were riding trails for about 3 hours. On the way back, we went to a straight stretch to drag race, and it started missing and sputtering.
I took it to the garage, let it idle, yet when I gave it any gas it sputtered and started backfiring. Besides possibly being too rich, I am stumped.

The only thing I did to it was take out the spark arrestor, until I can get a full exhaust. What should I do??

Thank you for any advice.

These quads are not built for drag racing!! You probably just blew it up.. Just kidding!

I would look at the plug and see if it is wet...pull the float bowl off the carb.....spray it out...cheak the choke linkage...put in a new plug....

Also drop a little gas down the plug hole and quickly put the plug in see what happens when you start it

Ummmmm, if all else fails, I will try that. I was just racing my brother's 400EX for fun, I was not "getting on" it all that much. I have done some searching and have found a few possible causes:
1. The stator
2. the parking break lever-switchie-thingie
3. Reverse is kicking in and out.

The first thing I did was pull the spark plug. It was black as pitch, but did not smell like gas. What do you think about these possibilities?

Make sure that the carbs have not sliped out of the intake boots. I have had that to happen on a couple and they run but just not very good. Good Luck!

when you unplug the reverse rev limiter from underneath the shifter, you have to ground one of the cables, not sure which one though
