i know the axel is supposed to come come with the sprocket and stuff still attached so on the left hand side i unscrewed the big nust that holds the pressure on the housing. i was told inside the nut there is something you have to dig out so the lock will slide rite off the end and the axel will come right off. last time i changed the axel i took a hammer and beat the sprocket and the sprocker holder off the splines and pulled it out that way. im one armed so i need the easiest way to get it out.

 

2big, its been a while...but let me see if I can remember...I think you will notice a huge circlip on the left side behind the brake rotor. Pull the circlip with a huge pair of plier and it should all slide out on the right side. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I dont think theres an easy way at all. When changing mine out to the JJ&A. I removed the hub nut, brake rotor orings, and big snap ring. Beat on it with a block and big hammer then got a bigger hammer. No dice, ended up taking it out carrier and all and pressing it out with the help of of some PB and and a torch. Finally came out. The bearings were froze on to the axle. I have a couple of techs that have a shop next to mine. They couldnt beleive what it took to get it apart. Good luck 2big, I hope you heal up soon.

 

as far as what is being referred to the rainbow bike it has nothing to do with jeff gordons [ stop it guys im gonna tell] it being referred to the rainbow bike becouse it started off as an 03 baja, then i added aplus4 powdered coated blue swingarm, then a friend of mine sent me a powdered coated red axel,and then i recieved a set of front upper and lower a arms that were powder coated a deep burgandy color, rear plastics are orange as with the seat and the tank cover and facia are black. what realy makes it funny is when i put my viper seat on it and then i basically have all the colors of the rainbow, and no mario im not gonna call it the rainbow coalition.

And if your bike comes out like a rainbow at least it will match the sticker on the back of your truck!!!


Hows it going with it? Did you get the front rims and tires?

 

im working on getting the axel out the dr. said the moving the shoulder outwards he did not say anything about holding a wrench with that side. i got the tire and rims thanks my owns a tire shop and sid dont worry becouse he will have those tacos of mine straightened back out into the rims they are suposed to be. leg is 100% better that is on the inside im sure these scabs will be there for a while i have some pictures of the bloody leg , it looks like i lost my leg from as much blood as there was. breakfast time be back in 30 minutes.

 

Hey man looking at the rear of the quad take the left side stuff off. Hub and lock and brake and surclip. Then pull it out the right side or beat it out but Ive never had to before. The only thing I ever had trouble with was the sprocket holder. That thing is on there. Ive never gotten one to come off.

 

when i switched swingarms to the ace i thougt you were supposed to beatthe sprocket holder off and slide it off that way after 2 hoursof beating on it it finaly came off the splines allowing me to slide it out that way.then mario told me i could take the nut off on the rite hand side and be done in 25 minutes instead of the 4 hours it took last time 2 hours of beating it off there and another 2 hours of beating it back on. nice. typical man to proud to ask for directions. reminds me of last year trying to get to the quenn mary. drove aroun and around the bay for 2 hours to proud to ask for directions come to find out i was o0ne streat from it. stupid is as stupid does.
