Polaris Has Been Good To Me
#1
I never had any problems with my '04 500 and now i have had my '04 700 for a year and a half and i havnt had ONE PROBLEM on it. i have spent $0.00 in repairs on my machine. Just basic maintenance. and yes i ride it almost as hard as anyone could ride their machine. I know alot of other Polaris owners have had their trouble's with their machine's but luckily for me, that is not the case. I am VERY happy with my 700, and hope to be an 800 owner when i get the money. The Way Out...

Just changed the oil and trans. fluid on my 03 330 Trail Boss today. I don't ride it all the time, but when I do, I ride it very hard. It's just a great machine. I do more than fluid changes - I maintain it well in every respect. It's been good to me, I'm good to it.
I was just thinking how I don't read posts about Trail Boss problems, at least since they fixed the oil cooling lines back in 02.
Glad to hear your 04 700 has done well too.

No offence, but around here where I live Polaris has a bad reputation, I was looking at buying a Polaris, it had the features I wanted, little more expensive, but the main reason I didn't buy it is the way I see other ATV Owners cut it down and make fun of it, I understand the older Polaris had a reputation as being belt smokers, but all new ATV's have belt drives and the problem of smoking belts has been corrected. Please don't take any offence to what im saying, the Polairs is a good machine and I know that, but they have trouble getting rid of their bad reputation.

Remember that line about it being hard to get rid of a bad reputation..

There is good reason Polaris has a bad rep. It comes from the pieces of **** they used to make in the older days.
There is nothing else in the ATV world that even comes close to being as bad as a Polaris made before 1992.
Polaris has come a long way since then.
Today they are as good or better than anything you can buy.

I had a 1987 Trailboss RES......the very same machine as the current Trailblazer......never had a single problem with it.......still had the original belt on it when I sold it.
If you rode a 87 for over a month you had worn out A-arm bushings, swing arm bushings and tie rods.
I have seen 91 and older trail boss ATV's wear out their bronze a-arm bushings after one weekend.
They did not start making a decent frame untill 92 and even then stuff wore out quickly. Around 93-94 they got better and they did not fix the swing arm problem untill 96.
The older 4x4 had three chains and six sprokets and two jack shafts that no one bothered to grease. They were a nightmare to work on.
I really hated to see one of those damn things come into the shop.
