I have a question to ask. I need to know if there are any differences in an 05 pred and an 03 pred. I am asking this because 2 of my friends have predators, i can easily beat one 1/8th of a mile with about 4-5 lengths, but the other friend who has the 05 can beat me by 2-3 in the same distance. the weird thing is, both have pipes and jet kits, so i figured they can be too far from even. and also the friend who has the 05 is 100lbs HEAVIER than the one with the 03. i can beat the 03 but not the 05, and i need to know why!

 

Sounds like something is not set right on the '03. There are some changes in the gearing and the tranny, but I wouldn't think that's enough to make what looks like a 6-8 length difference in the 1/8th mile. Yea, something there ain't right.

 

I heard that the '03 Predators had problems with the frame breaking under the gas tank. How is yours holding up?

Well, since you know both these guys and have obviously ridden with them, I assumed that if one of them sucked that bad, you would of mentioned it in your original post. Does the dude on the '03 obviously suck more than the dude on the '05?

 

yeah he isnt as good as a rider as the guy with the 05, but it just seems to me that if the 05 lined up along side the 03 with equal rider it would take it no prob. , maybe the 03 is a little worn out and out of tune

Maybe it isn't jetted just right? There are a ton of variables, but they don't even sound in the same ballpark. Do they have the same pipe?

 

I would say switch the two riders put the one on the 03 on the 05 and vise versa and see what happens and let us know. I can't beet my husband on his 00' DS but I come close and I have a 03'. He is also a better rider than me so I don't expect to beat him (YET).
