starting problem lt250r (CARB ?)
#1
I just rebuilt my 85 lt250r, I had the cylinder bored out 60 over.
I put it all back together and it started right up, ran good for about 30 seconds then died.
note that it has been in pieces for about 5 years.
It sounds like there is no fuel making it to the cylinder.
I am no good with carborators.
I have good sprk and good compresion and it will fire when i pour a capfull of fuel straight in the cylinder. I can barley feel my leg from kicking so much!!
I also would like to know what is a good combination of aftermarket parts that i could get to see the best performance out of my quad
what works for you guys
Do i need to re-jet my stock carb because i bored it out 60 over.

If it has set for 5 years, clean the carb all out, and make sure the floats aren't sticking. Buy a manual if you aren't comfy with the carb, but the stocker is a pretty simple unit. There are a few small parts though. It may be beneficial to use a digital camera and document how things are supposed to go back together. Have you checked to see if fuel flows to the carb?
