Default 686????

Hey guys,

I need a little help here. Thinking about making my raptor into a 686, Is it worth it or not ?

Will I notice a big diffrence in power? Should I go with race gas or stick to pump gas?

I've got an 04 raptor sent off to LRD to get turned into a 686. I'm also changing a lil bit more than the motor though, so that maybe i can get more of that HP to the ground. I'm expecting it back the end of this week sometime i believe. It'll probably take me a week or so after that to get it into shape. I won't forget about you though, and i'll reply for sure.. Until then.......

Raptors love compression and a strong 686 will run with most big bores. With a good build, you will feel more power from a 686 than you felt with a pipe, filter, and jet kit on the stocker. If you can get race gas or alky and it won't break your budget, I'd go with high compression (12.5:1+). The more power you add, the more stuff will need upgraded to handle it.

Mine made a huge difference. It actually Doubled the power from a stock # of 33HP to over 60!!! If standing up on the pegs doing 50+ in forth gear and, just laying on the throttle (no Clutch) and, blowing a wheelie across a sand dune is a good measure of feeling the difference - that is what you can do!

Man i would definitely do the 686. I just got mine done last week and i cannot belive the difference it made. Well thats also with the exhaust, and ported head. If you do get it dont forget about the rod. I am going to little sahara this weekend. The dyno is going to be my first stop.
