what 400 to buy? kfx ex or z
#1
I am looking at sport atv's and want a used either kfx ex or z i do alot of trail riding in desert conditions. would like some input on what is best for me. they most important thing for me would be suspension strength and durability.

between those two its basically rider preferance....most of the machine is identical to the other besides obvious change
king of durability though for a 400 motor is the 400ex though hands down...imo

The 400ex is a great machine. But the z400 is better.
The z400/kfx400 are basically a newer and better version of what the 400ex was. If the 400ex was even $500 cheaper it would be a deal worth looking into. But as it is they cost as much as any z400 I've seen, and you get better suspension, and a much harder hitting power plant with the z400. And I'm sure water cooling would only help in the hot conditions you describe.
If Honda was smart they'd price the 400ex around the 350 Raptor, they'd sell a lot more of them. It would in turn force Yamaha to lower the price of the 350 to stay cheaper than the 400ex.
But of course that means that we consumers would make out and they probably don't want that.
