I used 3 quarts to fill it up to the full mark. I put in Honda GN-4, I think it is a good oil plus I can now share with my street bike (used it in my XR650L & 300EX too). Buy a filter, usually OEM is best for oil filters. I admit I used a K&N OIL filter but will probably go back to OEM on the next change. I was placing an order with Dennis Kirk so I just got one of those instead of going down to the Suzuki dealer and getting charged whatever high price they get for them. As for air filters I would stay away from K&N since there are better options in the Twin Air & UNI.

Your owners manual will shed some light on the issue. I had the first change done at the dealer so they could go over the King and check to make sure everthing is still tight and adjust the brake cable. I switched to Amsoil shortly after discovering the filter issue on my 05 King 330 miles on mine now (purchase feb 05).

Just make sure that whatever oil you use, that it is safe for use with wet clutches. I run Amsoil in my King.
Thanks
