quadracer electric problems

Default quadracer electric problems

I have a 250 quadracer,had a air leak.found it,it was the fly wheel shaft seal.fixed that,then can not get a spark.I have looked at everything and tried everything i no to do,can anyone help.thx Dave

here are some steps to follow...
1-change plug
2-check plug wire cap to wire connection
3-change coil
4-check stator
5-change CDI(thats last cause its pretty expensive)

Sounds like maybe you screwed something up on the stator, since you had spark before you took that off.

First, I'd check to make sure you didn't pinch the wires where they go behind.

Second, I'd check where the wiring harness is soldered to the coils. The wire is very fragile.

Third, the timing is adjustable by position of the stator. You can adjust the stator slightly cw or slightly ccw. I'd check and make sure you have it in the right position.

It's most likely something in that area if it had spark before you took it apart.

oh yeah, forgot to mention. In the repair manual it tells you what the resistance of the coils should be. I don't find that very useful though as I've had bad coils test good and vice versa.
