What size main jet did they say to put in? What exhaust system do you have? What other mods do you have? The main jet can be changed without taking the carb off, with the right tools. I wouldn't change it yet until you let us know more details.

Not trying to put you down or be rude, but if you don't even know what a main jet is, don't mess with it. Even some decent mechanics have a hard time with jetting. Take it to your dealer and have them rejet it for you, then you'll know its right. By the time you buy a bunch of different jets and plugs till you get it right, you would have saved money and time by just letting your dealer do it right the first time.

No man, it's in the carb. Its the hole the needle in the carb sets in. Change the size of the hole and it changes the jetting. Now there are a bunch of variables to this, I just gave you a idea to look for that's it. I'm not going into detail, other EX riders should chime in and get you going in the right direction, up or down in size. I posted a link below to give you some good insite from another thread. just my .02¢
