Default raptor 660 starter solenoid clicks? wont start???

i went for a ride today and when i tried to fire my raptor up it just clicks under the seat. i took the seat off and its coming from the little black box called a starter relay, i think. the fuses are all ok. i hoked up the battery charger to make sure it wasnt a dead battery. still clicks. any ideas...

i had the same prob on my 04 raptor...i made the mistake, and thinking since the clicking was coming from the relay, well then, it must be the relay...but it was the battery all along. (save yourself $40 maybe and check the batt first) As it seems - the yamaha start system is CRAP! Since the motor's so big - it needs a FULL charge on the battery to crank it over. When i checked my batt - it was pushing just under 10V. The raptor needs ALL of the 12-14 volts to crank it. My advice - get a $20 voltmeter and check the batt - more than likely, the problem lies there.

I wish this thing had a kick starter...

Good Luck!

i had this prob when mine was brand new, the battery connection was just loose.......could be same with yours. if not that then a bad connection or flat battery
