Default Keep my KQ or get BRP 800 or 650

Ok guys, I have to admit that even though I like my KQ I have now, There are some things that really bug me about it. The lag probably bugs me the worst. I bought a set of mudlite XTR's and the thing felt like it went from a 700cc to a 500CC because of the extra weight, sp I alresdy took them off. Over the weekend, one of my best friends bought a Bomb 650 and I have to tell you I really like it. It is faster than my king and it was catching my other buddies BF750. It rides better and is way more responsive out of the hole. So naturally I was thinking of maybe making a change to either that or go all the way to the 800. That sure wouldn't have a problem with a little extra weight from good tires. Just don't know whether i'm better off trying to make my KQ better or to just suck it up and spend the $$$ on the bombs. Any opinions any of the machines is welcome. Good or bad. I want this to be my last move for a few years whether i keep my KQ or Get one of the BRP. If you think I should switch, what do you think 650 or 800. Also if you guys think I should keep my KQ, What mods ahould I be doing to help it out.

Thanks Alot for any input,
Keith

Keith, I am considering the exact same move. In the beginning, this machine was awesome...I am starting to experience some irritating problems: dead batteries, wont start, etc. I am looking at the bomb...problem is i don't have another 10k.

Several moto rag tests have shown that the stock KQ is fastest from 0 to 30 mph over Bomb650, BF650, Grizz, and Rinny. So for you to believe the Bomb650 to be WAY more responsive out of the hole is not consistant with the tests. Perhaps you are comparing the King with heavy tires to the stock Bomb. Many riders have also suggested that the Bomb's Visco type limited slip front diff does not perform well with larger tires compared to the King's proven diff lock. Just a warning that "The Grass Is Always Greener". Your King is very close to being the best you can own in most important performance catagories and is unsurpassed in terms of features such as diff lock, EFI, IRS, non-linked brakes, etc. I doubt that either one of the Bombs would be significant improvement. I would sure agree with advice to just hold your horses and check out the new early release Grizz 700EFI in only 4 more short months. In the meantime enjoy your ride.

The all in one brake lever would keep me from buying a Bomb.

...not enough dealers and way to high priced for me to change, besides Suzuki has the experience, and parts are more ready available.
