who would win a 1/4 mile race between the two (450r would be mine with my specs listed below) what do you think....

I think you'd take it. I took one with my 18 hp Craftsman lawn tractor. (of course i took the deck off) Don't tell anyone but i think the 700 is a slug.

 

A quarter mile is a long way to race considering your 450 is topped out way before then. It will come down to which quad has the highest top speed which I do believe the raptor is higher. You will beat it in the acceleration part but cut the race to an 1/8 mile and don't give that 700 a chance! You should have no probs gettin around it.

 

Of course you would win. But stock for stock, NO. Put those same modds on the raptor.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

You will have no problem beating it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] i have beat everyone ive raced. everyone says that there supose to be better then the 660r but the 660r blows its doors off Good Luck out on the strip

 

WHO ever says a fourwheeler will top out in a 1/4 mile is dumb... first off you should not be shifting that fast i ran stock gearing and never touchd 5th gear until about 100 ft before the line. and i did that more than once and never hit the rev limiter in 4th....

i can see it happening on a 1 mile course maybe but 4th gear is your longest gear..

i run 90 mph in the 1/4 and never hit the rev limiter (stock rev box) and now that i have the dynatex programmable box i know i wont have a problem.....

 

Some of you guys should get some new Suzuki 450's and then you could see some speed. Heard their the best out there as of now.

 

i beat one when i was stock.... those 18 inch back tires dont do very good (drag racing) they are nasty on the track (mx) though....

i put money against me and one the other day and came out 200 $ richer (he had that cherry bomb thing and full pipe )

 

Yeah I don't put much stock in those LTZ 450's. They sound funny and were getting smoked off the line by YFZ's, 450R's and Raptor 700's. They killed the Raptor 660's, heck even my buddy's ltz 400 with cams smoked the Raptor 660s. We ran 300 ft drags at Busco Beach in Goldsboro, NC. THe TRX's w/mods and the YFZ's with mods were the winners in most of the drags. THe stock 700 Raptor is impressive, but not up to par with the YFZ and TRX 450R.

I am having trouble computing your RPM. Running 15/38 gearing with a 20 inch tire, I have you at 10,000 RPM in 5th gear. I know you aren't even fully tapped out in 5th gear given you only had 100 ft of track yet so you couldn't have possibly built your RPMs up.

What gives? What is your rear tire size? I smell BS.
