Default Need some help from the Honda guys. Handlebar question.

Hey all..

Ok ok.. Dont fry me here..

I have a 06 Polaris 500HO. I am trying to fabricate a handlebar cross brace. Like the ones on a Renthal handlebar. To mount a GPS unit.

I found a set of "steering stem handlebar clamps" that may work. What I am going to do is mount the clamps to the bars and get a stick of solid tubing and weld a piece of steel to each end of the tube to allow the tube to mount to the clamps. would look like this *Clamp* -steel ear --->/---BAR--\<--steel ear * clamp*

Are the handlebars off a Honda 300EX the size of 7/8? I dont know if they are. I think all handlebars are a universal 7/8. What is nice about these clamps is you dont have to strip all the crap off the bars to get a clamp over them.. This you just bolt on..

Here is a link to a pic of them.. Clamps

Thanks for all the help!

Those would be the 7/8 of an inch(standard) bar clamp.
