Honda 300 question...
#1
Good day.
My father in law has a 91 300 4x4.He called me last night to say his bike is running very hot.He had a little firewood left to split, and used the bike to haul the splitter. He said he was maybe 15 minutes, and left the bike running to move it ahead as needed. He went to get on it when he finished splitting, and he thought it was going to singe his leg hairs. It was only in the mid 40's yesterday. He said the oil is right on.
Any ideas?
Thanks...Warren

It's pretty simple: These things are AIR COOLED. If they aren't moving through the air..........well, no cooling!
Never leave an air cooled engine sitting for very long. It's better to turn it off and have to restart it a bunch of times, than let it sit there overheating.

I was thinking that, but in the same sense, the splitter is air cooled, and it runs all day never moving.
