Default outty 800 noise at 3000 rpm

i got a brand new 800 xt outlander and i've had a noise for 57 miles that is coming from the front of the atv that sounds like a exhaust shield rattle? it only seem to be there @2900-3500 rpm's. its a noise that sounds like it could be fixed with a wire tie. anybody got that? thanks

I have the same noise, it is the heat sheild. Let me know if you fix it, I gave up and just live with it.

I looked at the heat sheild but could not determine a good fix. I got to where I don't even notice it anymore
Thanks for the reply

It's the belt noise that makes me deaf. I just don't think about it but I wish there was a cover for the belt that would take away some of that whine. Maybe double wall or insulated.

EasyQ,
Your belt wine is that loud? I just took my new Outty out this weekend for the break in ride, put 60miles on her. I didn't even notice a belt wine. Maybe since I'm comming off a a Brute 750 it's not noticable compared to the Kaw.

Mine had the heat shield rattle also.....stopped on the trail and banged it with my hand...same noise...it was to close. I grabbed it and pulled it out like a 1/4 inch (bent) and the noise went away....15 second fix...done.

My belt whine is probably not abnormal but comming off a bike where there is none it is noticeable. I think a "quiet" belt cover would make a big difference.
