I am in the same boat that you are in. I just sold my 400ex to buy a raptor or a yfz450 and I cant decide either. I have pretty much decided to get a yfz450 because I have 3 friends with raptors. I heard they are pretty good at wheelies and at anything else I need to do. It just doesnt have reverse and I dont really need it.

i do like reverse but with the yfz 450 at 350lb i can get off and throw it around faster than using it i think the yfz is the best choice i just need to sell my 400ex first ther was a guy that was going to buy it we agreed on 3500 and he tryed to bring me down on the price the day he was he was coming to get it!

Ya I sold mine for $3500 cash but my dad took some of the money so now I have to save up before I can get anything else. What are some of the problems with the 2004 yfz450's and where can I buy parts to fix them?

if you want a light machine with power for jumping, then the YFZ is the machine you want. I am racing a raptor in motocross right now, and I will tell you it is harder to get the raptor over some doubles than it is to get a YFZ over the same jump.
the raptor is fast and fun in the dunes and on trails, but the YFZ is more agile and has better stock suspension.

Why dont you look into the Raptor 700? Because they are faster and have better suspension then the 660. Plus there are quite a few people using them for MX and they seem to do just as good as a 450 around the track. The only difference between the 700 and 450 is the 450 is a little lighter but the raptor makes up for it with extra power. As for suspension the raptor and YFZ are exactly the same except the YFZ has better front stock shocks and the YFZ sits 1/2 an inch lower then the Raptor. Jamie Mace

if anything and also is 4600 a good price for a 2004 red and white yfz with a dg bumper and a k&n air filter
