OK got my pro peg nerfs today. They came with no instructions which i thought was no big deal. Anyway i got them all installed they look good and are solid but i have 4 bolts and 4 nuts that have no idea what they are for.

6 bolts and nuts to install the pegs

2 bolts for the connections at the oil reservoir just a little longer than the stock bolts

then 4 bolts and matching nuts that seem to have no home

where these just a mistake or am i missing something thx

 

The two small bolts go where the oil can connection, and the other four bolts are for the foot pegs. You need to drill holes through the aluminum over the black pegs that you bolted on for foot pegs. You need to drill holes about 1 inch and 3 inches from the frame. If you call ac racing they will send you instructions by fax or email.

 

The four bolts in question are two for each side to secure the rear of the nerfs onto the bar that bolted to the frame.. You should even out the nerfs on each side. then you will drill a hole straight down through the nerfs and peg.. install and tighten up... I drilled mine just to the inside of the first bolt, that holds on the removeable foot peg, closest to the frame. The second one just outside of the first ones.. a couple of inches...

If you dont, you risk the chance of pushing the nerf bar out when you turn and push on the kick ups.. Yes I know they where tight going on, but they will move... I got regular bolts. so after installation, I painted them black to match...
