Stock they are not a rocket ship by any means but they handle like a dream in the woods if you are a somewhat good driver...my buddy is pissed cause in the woods he can't loose me with a z400, but mine has a jet kit and airbox mod and twinair filter

around a hundred bucks...but you should use the Uni pre filters that install in the lid of your airbox, they would be a little less of a hack job on the airbox mod

rockymountainatv.com has everything

dynojet kit
twinair filter
uni prefilters (not sure if thats what there called)

Well, I took the plunge and bought a 2006 used with 200 miles on it. I pick it up tomorrow. I paid 5000 and it all stock. I will make some mods at some piont, but just want to enjoy it first, How big of a tire can I put on it without stessing anything. I really don't want to injure or stress the quad. I will be hunting and plowing with some trail riding for now. I liked the kodiaks 450s when they came out and now I finally own one! I will let you all know how it goes and I'm sure I'll have even more questions as the actual using of the machine goes.
Thanks

Kodiak is home and couldn't be happier. I don't have a garage to put it in and was wondering if there are any covers that protect them better than others?
Thanks
