i am looking to buy a new quad and need some advice. i am an agressive trail rider and occasionally race at a track. acceleration is more important than top speed and i need something nimble to go in tight trails. i was wondering what would be better for me...the 06 honda 450r or the new raptor 700.

 

Both have lots of power and can be ridden aggressively on the trails. I like the 700s power cause its always there no matter what gear your in but the 450 is lighter and handles better so you can throw it around a little easier.

 

From what you say you need Id say probally the 450.

The 700 Raptor is a great machine I love mine, it works great on the trails and reverse is nice but has a less agressive suspension than the 450 class quads.

I think either would work so you just need to decide what you would rather give up.

450 = more race ready, assuming better suspension since most 450's do but not real current on the honda,

but no reverse and not as comfortable

Performance wise both can be modded so much dont think will really matter which
