I own the kit but I have not put it on yet. I dont really want to put the kit on. LMAO But in case I think something might be not working right I can put it on. I got mine on ebay for like 12 shipped. But with an 04 I dont worry, since its new. But in 10 years, if I still have it, and when I am taking a break from my rappy 700, or yfz, and waiting for some parts or something, I might just put it on. Hope this helps. I would not bother with it. Yet. Just have it on hand like me. LOL

I've got a 91 Blaster and still running oil injection. Keep the area around oil cap clean, vent clean, and bleed pump if you suspect air in system( such as taking line off carb or running out of oil. I've yet to meet or hear directly from someone who oil injection failed, it's usually someones cousins exwives stepbrother.

I made my own kit and installed it. Our pump was letting the oil syphone (?) through it, putting wwwwaayy to much oil in and fouling plugs like crazy. Ours is a 2003, and I called a local dealer who gave me a number of a Yamaha service rep. He told me that there were 2 ways the pump goes bad. They either quit working all together, or the diphram inside will not seal and let the oil seep through. He told me there is a rebuild kit for it but recomended to do away with it all together.
