Default oil weight for a raptor

im running 10w40 full synthetic in mine right now, it gets pretty hot here in alabama, and after the quad warms up, the oil thins down, seems like it hurts the ability of the clutch to grip as well, should i run a higher weight oil? or am i just imaging things?

I have been running Catrol GTX 20w50 for 3 years and have never had a problem yet. It gets in the high 90's and 100's all the time here in the desert, and it works great. I do change my oil more than most since I use it for racing, and I ride around 350 miles a month on average year round. I also change the filter every other time, I am running a fram Tough Guard filter (TG6607 I think) it's only 6 bucks at wal mart.
