Stock '04 TBlazer clutch spring
#1
I'm going to give my wife's TB a little boost, hopefully, to help him climbing a little. I believe I'm going to put a Polaris White primary spring in and that's it. I have a few questions concerning this and hope someone can help me out.
1. The white spring a good choice for a bone stock TB? It does have a Twin Air filter, but...
2. Is this a pretty easy task? Any special tools I need? Any idea on approx. time start to finish?
3. Any thing I need to look at while I'm in there? Belt deflection I read about. How do I measure it and how do I know if I need to adjust it? I read about shims, how do they come off or get installed? Additional shims, if needed, something purchased from Polaris only?
Sorry for the stupid questions, but my 1st Polaris and my 1st belt driven quad. Thanks for any input, though!

You might like the EPI pink just a little better. Not quite as high on engagement, and has more top end.

Well great! Now I'm confused! You think the EPI pink is better? Better take off? Better for hill climbing? This is for my wife and it struggles on some hills, just looking for a little more umph in that dept along with a little better take off.

The white can be a little snappy for slower riding or if you stop on a hill it would need more throttle to get it to go. If you want better hill climbing you need mid range. The pink will give you the same take off as stock but with more agressive mid and top end. If you like a snappy take off then the white is good. Most women dont like it snappy.

Had the white, and switched to the pink. Like the pink better, but that just my opinion. The thing I didn't like the most was the engagement. In a tight spot, it was tough to feather the throttle for a small move. Got more of a jump from it.
And it's pretty easy to change. If you haven't done it before, 20 minutes. After doing it once, it's more like 5-10. No special tools needed.
