I have an awesome '05 660 raptor (stock), one of my friends just bought a beat up, wrecked '03 predator and he is destroying me in a straight line, and I mean in every gear! Is this normal? I had no idea those things were that fast. Whats the fastest, cheapest way to regain some respect with my raptor?

 

Actually in the shootout Dirt Wheels did between the 660r and the Predator (sometime during the '05 model year) they did say the Predator was faster, and this has been my personal experience as well. However, the 660 is a torque monster by comparison, so i imagine that with a pipe and the proper jetting you should be side by side with it at least. I don't know of any cheaper way to add HP than that...

 

A good full exhaust and open intake should do it if you get the jetting right. There's really no cheap way to make them that much faster. The 660 has to be the most plugged up quad there is, IMO.

 

Yea man, all you need is a good full system exhaust, filter, and jet...and you'll be set to embarrass him. He wont know what hit him, you will hve him by at the least 3 lengths.

 

Either the exhaust/intake, or just wait a few weeks and roost him while he stands on the sidelines because his beat on quad is in the shop[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Can't be that wrecked if it's beating you in every gear. My 03 stock Raptor beats my friend's 04 Predator every time. Rider skills. That's probably your cheapest and most effective upgrade.

 

Try a 12 tooth counter shaft sprocket. It is amazing what $15.00 can do for you. Follow that with a quality air intake/pipe/jetting.
