Default 800 EFI soft rear suspension

I am dissapointed with my rear suspension. I have the adjusted cranked up and the rear suspension is still too soft. I put a winch on the rear, not much added weight, I am 300 lbs, could be an issue, and the back rides so soft. I was following my quad with my 185lb buddy riding it, and I could not believe the look of the flexed suspension. I mean, this thing was riding on the inside of the tires. I can only imagine what it looks like when I am on it! It seems as if Polaris fixed the front issues, I am happy with the front suspension, but know the rear is P!ss!ng me off. Is it just me? Am I too heavy? I mean the rear rack capacity is 200lbs. Does that only fly if the rider is 100lbs himself? Does anyone else have this issue? If so, have you corrected it? If so, how? Thanks in advance!

Default 800 EFI soft rear suspension

I have an 06 800 myself and had the same problem...
I solved the problem by purchasing the rear shock assemblies that fit on the X2....
I have also heard of people running the mv 700 springs on this machine.
My dealer gave me 20% off the parts I needed to get the job done.....
It even gave the rear a bit of a lift! about an inch?
I added a 1 " spacer lift kit to the front to compensate for the rear being lifted a bit.

If I remember correctly... I paid about $280.00 for the parts.... and that was after the discount.... $350.00 mod?

Hope this helps!

Jon

The only MV7 spring mod I'm aware of is the MV7 springs on the front to get rid of most if the dive during turning and breaking it firms the front end up 85-170 in/lbs or preload over the stock 85-111 in/lbs. I thought the X2 sorings were and inch shorter than stock. I guess I had it backwards. Thanks for the info.

Stopped by the dealer today to look at springs. Basically what I found out is the 800, Ranger, and MV all had about the same spring installed height. The ranger is about 50% stiffer than the 800. The MV is about 100% stiffer than the 800.(according to the books) Anyway I am sleeping on this issue to figure out how much stiffer ride I think I need. Thought that I would report back to you guys on my findings! I pushed down on the MV and MAN that was stout! I may be leaning towards the Ranger spring.
