Need help with Raptor PLEASE
#1
Ok guys I need some help. We where getting ready to ride the other day and when I took my Raptor 660 2004 model off the trailer everything was fine. I rode it for about 45 sec so that I could help everyone else unload. At this point it was running great. A few min. later we all jump on to go ride and the raptor fires up just fine and idles great but as soon as you hit the throttle it bogs down and will not go. It sounds like a air problem but I can not tell.
Here is what I have done to try and fix it. I first (in the field) broke down the carb and blew out the jets with my mouth and but it back together, it did not change anything. I took it home and last night broke it down again and used a air compressor to blow out the jets and everything. While I had it all broke down I rejetted it, put a proflow air kit on it, change the spark plug, took the gas tank apart and cleaned the filter in the tank.
After putting it all back together it still runs the same way.....PLEASE HELP I AM LOST....
Thanks, Cliff

Sounds like Carb. to me, and or lack of fuel. If you hav'nt done so, check the float bowl level and FLOW with Carb. installed by removing drain plug a bottom of float bowl with fuel pet. on, if you have a Questionable lack of fuel flow check and clean float level valve and pet valve, and recheck fuel flow. If you think it could be Ignition related but your not sure here's a few simple for sure checks. Since your bike already runs and Idles, remove the air filter start it up and rev it to the point were it starts to bog down, right at this moment ( start small) safely administer fuel into the throat of carb. if engine revs higher you have a for sure fuel/carb. problem. If yow ca'nt get the engine rev higher and it stalls or does'nt run better and faster it's Ignition. This may sound crude to some, but it is effective, and can be safely done when engine and pipes are cool, and with the proper squit can. Aim and common sense also help!
Go luck hope this helps!
