Why does'nt my Sunl 90 carb suck?
#1
My sons Sunl SLA 90 stoped working (would'nt start)about 3-4 weeks ago and I thought it was a fuel line problem because the cheap fuel line looked pinched. I mickymoused it to work for a while about (1/2 hr) then I replaced the fuel line with a new 45 degree fuel filter and clear fuel line. Now it wont even suck the fuel from the tank. What reasons could there be for the engine/carb failing to draw fuel?

My sons eton 90 has the same problem sometimes it has clear fuel line so when it does'nt start thats the first place i look . It seems to me that because of the factory bent gas line from the tank to the petcock has a hard time flowing since the petcock is mounted considerably higher than the bottom of the tank, when the tank is low on gas it needs to flow uphill to get past the petcock but once it does start its fine then till it sits with the gas off for awhile. im moving the petcock lower to try to solve it

the sunl 90-110 doesn't come from the factory with a petcock, it just uses a fuel line from the gas tank to the carb, for about $3.00 you can buy a inline petcock from mercury marine, also you need to replace the fuel line with thicker wall line, any auto parts store will have this, it uses 5mm fuel line, 3/16 fuel line close enough. if you can't find any let me know and can sent you as much as you need.

I'm not familiar with your particular atv but just wanted to add that the carb does not "suck" the fuel in.It is strictly a gravity feed type system from the tank down.Make sure the cap/tank is vented.

Thanks all for the tips. I figured out the problem, I assumed that the carb would suck the fuel from the tank which was wrong as oldyeller pointed out so I pressurized the fuel tank using the air tube on the cap and an air compressor and it pushed the fuel into the carb and it started right up and continued to run ok.
