Default 2003 raptor 660 cutting out

A buddy of mine I ride with has a '03 raptor(i have a '03 warrior)....
his bike has a bad tendency of cutting out(gas sputtering) when we go
up hills in the trails...anything from 5-50' high hills...my warrior goes
right up them with no problems...any ideas what might be causing this...
i've ridden his bike several times and it seems like it just not set up
very well for trail riding....you can do wheelies and go 70mph, but not
a very good trail experience...he is thinking about dropping down to a warrior,
because we mostly trail ride and he has no need ofr speed like most raptor owners...
he likes the raptor becasue he is 6'6" and about 250, so it has plenty of "leg room" and
power...any thoughts would be appreciated....

do you know if the raptor has that and if so...what does it look like and where in the carb is it? I have heard that it is an issue with the vaccums closing shut....any ideas?

I would check float levels if the quad is on a incline and the levels are off this would explain the sputter. There is a clear tube way of cheaking the float levels on both carbs without taking anything apart. Do a search for this method or check raptortranny.com The raptor makes a great trail quad and you should not be having this problem. Happy 4th to ya.
