I CAN'T GET THE LOCK NUT OFF MY AXLE HELP!!!

hey everyone i have a 2001 yamaha blaster and i was trying to change my carrier bearings and i cant seem to get the lock nuts off the back axle...they dont budge.......any tips on how to get thme off

one word of advice, get one of those clymers books for the blaster, it will tell you how to do alot of useful things and it is extremely helpful, for the locknut thing i cant help you but that manual will

They put those nuts on tight. I put pipe wrenches on both the lock nuts. I positioned the inside one against ground and beat the other pipe wrench with a hammer. It was on so tight it kept racing the blaster off the ground. Once you get it started coming off don't stop because it generates heat making it easier to come off. There on there tight so they don't come off when your riding.

The manual doesn't really have any tricks about getting the locknuts off. But they are helpful for doing other stuff on quads. Especially thing like giiving you the torques for bolts and sequence to tighten nut on head and cylinder base.
