I bought my quad (1987 TRX 250r) used about 5 years ago and it didnt come with a title and it doesnt have the VIN tag on the frame behind the motor. the frame has been gusseted and has been powdercoated at least once. I've heard there is a "secret VIN" somewhere else on the bike does anybody else know about that? also is it possible to get a title assigned to it based on the the numbers on the engine case? please help! thanks!

 

When I sandblasted the frame on my R before I powdercoated it, the only VIN I saw on the frame was the plate on the subframe. You may be able to title it based on the engine VIN. But if not, Im sure it can be done somehow...maybe as a rebuilt title.

 

anyone else have any ideas on finding a VIN or getting a title?

 

on my 89 250r my vin number is on the front of the bike under the air scoop by the steering stem, if it the original motor on the bike then you can find the title but what you can also do is find a shieff friend or same kind of position and ask them so see if stolen or and then they can make you a savage title and the you probably be able to register as a salvage !!
