Default "Tinny" sounding rattle in 4x4

I was hoping someone could help out on this one...

I have a tinny sounding rattle coming from the front of my 06 BF 650i when in 4WD. I don't really hear it when I'm in 2WD, but that might just be because I'm going faster and the bike is louder. Any ideas why it would rattle in 4WD? I'll check the heat shield bolts tonight, but just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem.

Thanks for the help,
TC Man

some guy had a problem similar to yours and he said it was easy as just having dirt stuck near his front headlights which sounds weird but he said it stopped

I checked all the heat shields and they are snug as can be. Any other ideas? I just put skid plates on it as well, but they seem solid too. Strange...

Do you have the a-arm guards also? If so, I had mine make a noise and it was the metal frame type piece behind the guard that was too close to the aluminum guards that I installed. I took it off and tapped it with a hammer and bent it back about 1/4", now all is good. It could also be dirt or a rock on your skid plate.

Roofer...I'll check that out. I know when I installed the front A arm guards I had to bend that piece back because it was to far forward and wouldnt allow the guards to fit correctly. Im pretty sure it is sitting against the guards now so it my be causeing the rattling. I'll try putting a piece of rubber behind it to see if that solves it.

Thanks,
TC Man
