this is repost to the problem i had the other night with a rattle in or near my motor. ended up being the bolt for the heat shield come out. i've seen a few people have this problem any thing i can do. only have a 100 miles on it and its falling apart. if i wanted a junk i would have kept my 05 grizzly. at least all that did was get hot, never fell apart.
but thanks again to bob

i posted on your other thread. a little loctite goes a long ways. just give everything a look see, make sure everything is tight and you wont have worry about it again. i look at it this way, you have to sacrifice something when you have the power that this "motor of doom" dishes out, i'll take some loose bolts any day!!!

Dude, it's just a heat shield bolt. Could have been a lot worse. I think everyone in here has had the loose heat shield bolt problem. Add a lockwasher or some loktite and go ride that B_tch! :>

My buddy, GOD rest his soul, had 2 polaris quads a 500ho and a 02 700 he would not buy anythying else for the longest time ,all he did was complain about them all the time. He would have them in the shop every other week.I mean the stuff we rode through ,mud up to the fenders and swamp grass and leaves all through the quad.No one else had these probs. you know the overheating almost everytime we went out , well the reason for this was he did not clean his quad til the morning of the ride, by that time the radiator was moslty plugged solid. He finally got tired of polaris and also went to kawi BF 750, guess what? He also started having probs. with the Kawi I believe most of his probs. were self inflicted do to not cleaning his quads soon after the ride,Im not sayiung that you dont clean your quad but pay special atten. to your radiator, it builds up quickly after a couple of rides if it is not cleaned regularly. My Griz does not overheat with 1800 mi. on it I have had other probs. stator that was the only prob. that was not caused by me.I have heard of Grizzlys overheating but ussually do to plugged rads.

Your very welcome. as for overheating, I suggest going to oreillys or autozone and get the "etching" wire wheel cleaner (acid) and first wash out all the mud in your radiator then after doing that spray the acid on the radiator it will take the clearcoat that they spray on them off, it will cool alot better and will hold up to more clogging. this will work on any liquid cooled bike. they spray a clearcoat on the radiator so that it will not stain as bad, but myself I perfer a stained radiator over one that overheats.

Falling apart... I think you are exaggerating a bit.
My BF was delivered to me with a loose coolant hose. My heat shield bolt also came loose.
Sometime you should flip through the repair manual and look at all of the things that could go wrong. I'ts kind of a buzz kill, if you know what I mean.

bruteforcebob, a while back i was complaing about my bf750 cutting out during and after i go through water and i think it was you that mentioned something about a clear plastic "bulb" somewhere under the front fender somewhere that is either open on the the bottom or at least has holes in it and i was told to seal it but ive looked and looked and cant seem to find what you guys are talking about. i must be totally blind or something!!! if you could post a picture of what youre talking about that would be great because im getting tired of this thing doing that.
