Just Purchased BF 650i Camo 4x4
#1
Hey Guys, I have 4 hrs on my new 650i and loving it, after reading your posts it sounds like I should change the tires, havn't done it yet, I will probably wait until it's at least broke in. No problems yet, but I appreciate all the posts from you guys that steered me in this direction. I am taking it to Utah in August for a week and I so excited I keep peeing my pants everytime I think about it. I will keep you guys posted on any problems etc. Later

welcome to the board, konaking. i'm also a camo 650i owner. i have about 500 miles on mine so far (including a trip to Moab) and would not even consider another atv as long as i have mine.
i have Bighorn tires mounted on the stock rims. the rims are getting a little scuffed but so far so good. i'm hoping the rims hold out long enough so i can save up enough for beadlocks.
i hope you are gonna be in the mountains in Utah. it is gonna be HOT. you should be able to go fast enough to stay kinda cool tho...

Hey Monty, Do you notice any difference in power running Bighorns? I mean how much difference in weight are we talking about? I will be between 6,000 to 8,000 feet in Utah so heat shoudn't be a problem, but at that altitude how do they run? Thanks for your time, kona king

konaking, i could not tell any real performance difference with the bighorns. to be honest, i have never done a real top speed run. as far as trail performance, the 650i has a power surplus so the bighorns are a good thing in my opinion. the bighorns are quite a bit heavier, but the Dunlops are wayyyyy too light weight to be a serious tire. tire selection is a highly personal thing so a lot of it depends on how you like to ride, hard and fast or dificult trails in low range. Bighorns are the best rock and hardcore trail tire available in my opinion.
as far as jetting, the factory jetting in mine is fine to at least 10,000 feet. i had mine at that altitude yesterday for the first time (the snow finally melted enough to allow access) and had no problems at all. not even a hiccup. i have read the plugs several times and they look a nice medium brown at 4,500 feet (my home elevation). mine may have high elevation jets in it from the dealer, but i doubt it since i bought it at a town quite a bit lower than here.
you should pull your plugs (at least the front one) and look at it a couple times at first and make sure it isn't too white. it may run a little lean at your home (i dunno how high Murrieta is), but should be fine in Utah.
i really hope this helps.

I know this info has been posted before, but I have to move all over the site to find the answers to my question. I have 8 hours and 65 miles on my new 650i, and I am getting ready to change the oil and oil filter. 1st question: What oil and oil filter is the best? 2nd Question: Should I change any other Fluids at this point or should I wait?
Thanks guys and sorry if you have to repeat yourselves, kk

"BOSCH 3300 for the filter from your local autozone for 5bucks I did a comparison on highlifter site not too long ago, compared several filters and the bosch filtered better than any I tried although I didnt try the K&N. but it did filter better than a wix and thats a premium filter. as for oil in the motor you can use any automobile oil you choose because there are no clutches to worry about. so you get to use the best types of oil on the market just look for something that has an antifoaming additive or just use a synthetic,I use quakerstate 4x4 full synthetic it doesnt foam up and works well in high RPM engine and is cheap enough to replace when you want too instead of waiting full length for oil changes. I use valvoline 4stroke motorcycle oil for the front diff because of the locker. for the rear you can use supertech transhydrolic fluid from walmart its safe for wetbrakes and will cost you about 9 dollars for 2 gallons. "
This is a reply on one of my post form bruteforcebob. When I did my frist service I ended up using the quakerstate oil but I used a walmart filter. They seem to be good filters I have used them on my Kodiak for almost two years. I also changed the Diffs. I feel it is a good idea to do this just to get the break in fluid out and put some fresh stuff in. Where are you going to be riding in Utah. I live there and the riding is awsome. Good luck if there are any other questions I can help with I will.
