I have a 05' 800efi. I did 65mph on dirt just after the break-in period. I now have 34mi on it and the throttle was pint at 55mph on grass for a 1/2 mile. That's not right! Has anyone else had this problem or taken their quad to the dealer about this?

 

Check the outer waer cover on your filter, clean it in soap and water and try it again.

BTW look at your air filter too, have you been riding in realy dust areas?

 

The sp800 efi should get about 73mph i think. I hit 68-70 on my V2, and the 800 will slowly pull away from me at top speed.

 

My brother-in-law has one with a winch, plowplate, and spring spacers and he gets 68mph on GPS. He weighs around 260lbs.

 

mine would do 65mph before i put my tires on it and now it goes 60mph.

had same problem but mine had more miles took to dealer they said it seemed fine told them it does feel fine take off and everything except top end i decided to try a belt even though it looked fine and never slipped and it went from around 50 to 67 just like when it had 0 miles the dealer said they had no where to get it up that fast

 

Thanks for the help all. I put a Uni filter in and it got up to 60 on the grass and 70+ on hard dirt/street. This is more like it. I think I'm going to need a pwr commander to make it get up to 70 on the grass.
