Default Belt Light On KVF (Praire) 360 On?

I got a KVK 360 auto, which I think is the Praire to you Americans. I'v got the light come on the belt indicator, does that mean the belt needs tensioning, replacing or resetting or something along those lines. If so, can I do it myself and how as the local Kawaski dealer here in the UK is expensive.

Thanks from the UK,
Rob

Default Belt Light On KVF (Praire) 360 On?

Rob

First off, welcome to the forum. Your 360, if it is like the ones over here in the USA, will have two connector sets on the right hand side under the plastic near the shift lever. One connector will be white and the other black. Disconnect these and reverse them. Black to white and white to black. Turn your key on and wait about ten seconds. Shut the key off and put the connectors back as they were. Turn the key back on and the light should be out. Sometimes it takes a couple of trys.

This light comes on after the bike has been ridden for a certain number of hours and/or when there is a problem with the belt. In either case you should open the belt case on the right side of the machine and insure the belt tension is correct. Some information on this is in the owners manual and the procedure is covered in detail in the shop manual which is an excellent investment if you wish to do your own maintenance.

I am going from memory here as my manual is at the farm and the 360 is in use by a friend right now. There is an excellent site put together by "Nyrock" available on the web that you need to look up. Don't have the address on this puter or would look it up for you. Enjoy your ride.

Edit: Looked up Nyroc's site HTTP://atv.dnsalias.com

Edit #2: You will find the info you need listed under the 650 Prairie, lots of stuff is interchangable between the two machines.
