If the shocks on the new 250EX are not good enough?
#1
If I buy the 250EX and I find that the ride is still too rough for me... what kind of shocks or steering dampner would I use? I love the looks of this quad over the Lakota, but hubby is saying that the Lakota has better suspension after reviewing all the information in the mags. I am still going to wait to ride one in January, but if he says no at least I can make other suggestions to him. Like better shocks! Thanks.

Given the fact that the quad is a new model, a bike-specific shock may not yet be available. You might check with Progressive Shocks however, to see if they have one or have other shocks compatible with your bike of choice. I run a PEP damper and find it very helpful in reducing arm pump and general upper body fatigue. All dampers will tend to require some additional effort in steering depending on the setting of the damper. However, the benefits obtained usually outweigh that drawback. The PEP has three setting for damping and in my case, riding mainly XC or tech trail, I have set it at rhe middle position and left it there. Some other dampers have many more settings which are helpful to those who ride a variety of different venues such as mx, flat track, XC, casual trail riding, etc. Otherwise, dampers with multiple adjustments tend to be just bells and whistles.

Works Performance will custom make a shock to fit. You just have to give them your info. I'm sure that shocks for the 250EX will show up soon after its intro though. Non-adjustable shocks on a sport machine won't go over real well.
