Yea. Gotcha covered. Sell your 300 and buy a 400. I'm very suprised that you got dissappointed with the power before getting disappointed with the inferior suspension travel and annoyingly small ergonomics of the vehicle itself. I considered the exact same thing, but I would definitely buy a 400. I'm saving up right now, because I rode one and it blew my mind. I have an eye on weisco's 440 kit too. Oh. So about your real question. No. Unless you have a welder and a small fab shop. I do, but there's no way I'd try when I could just trade for an older 400 and rebuild it at near no-loss. Just my $.02 .

i dont think it would cost more than about 650 to get it bored out and higher compression, witha cam ... I think you couldhang with 400's if you did all that... Jet it right get a good exhaust and you will be set

i wouldnt waste your money buying a 400ex if your going to just put a 440 kit in it, or mess with the engine at all for that matter. Dont get me wrong, its a great quad, i have a 400ex my self. This is what you do if u get a 400ex...slap a exhaust on there with some nerf bars and maybe a pair of handle bars, and thats it, otherwise its really a waste of money, what you gotta do if your wanna make it a 440 or dink with the engine is just DONT BUY ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE! I made that mistake....just go with a Honda 450r right off the bat, it will save u cash in the long run and you will be MUCH more happy with the stock 450r then the 400ex. (I just bought a 2006 honda 400ex and am already considering a 450r, thats how fast you will want to upgrade) Well anyways hope everything turns out right for ya!
