Giovanni 150cc from Allstarsalez

Hey,
I've had the Gio 150 for about a week now and it is a great little quad. All of the components are substantially more heavy duty than the 50cc (as expected) and the engine (Honda GY6 clone) has plenty of power and runs great. This quad comes with a true CVT transmission that allows plenty of bottom end power. Suspension is great and the reverse feature works flawlessly.
PS: Make sure to check all the bolts for tightness prior to first use. This should be done with all China Quads that are delivered direct from the factory.
Will keep you posted should any issues arise.

Oh ya,
Don't forget to change the junk oil that comes with the quad as well as replacing the spark plug with a NGK CR7HSA. I also changed the reverse gear box oil with a high quality 90 wt gear oil.

Thanks bill2099
Just changed the tranny oil this afternoon. I was happy to see that it was full to the inspection hole, however, the oil quality appeared poor.....I swear they use canola oil in these things.

billl2099,
Do you or anyone else out there know if there is a fuel filter contained within the fuel **** of these 150cc's? If not, would you recommend an in-line fuel filter??
Thanks,
Brian

There is not a fuel filter on them. I would go to tractor supply, napa, or somplace that carries lawnmowers and get a fuel filter. If you dont it will suck in debris and cause all kinds of problems.

GIO 150 update....
This quad has really impressed me.....There have been no issues to date and it is running great. It's been ridden hard on a near daily basis for a month now.
The trails that we ride in Northern BC are very rough, however the little GIO seems to enjoy it. The quad is driven by my 10 year old daughter who is 100 lbs. and drives this thing like she stole it.

I have had my 150cc for about 3 week now. I would like to change the transmition oil and was wondering if someone can let me know where the drain ad fill bolts are.
When I change the oil I unscrewed a bolt and a filter and spring came out of it. Is that the bolt that everyone else used for draining the oil because I see one other bolt on the side I could have used?
How is top end power? I find low end power very good but top end power is poor?
Last I have had both of my head light break off during riding on very light terrain (the street), has anyone else had this problem? John is shipping new ones out in a couple of weeks when they arrive from china but I don’t want the new ones to break again!
Thanks,
Lou

Hey Lou,
You should be using the chrome plated bolt on the left side of the engine to be draining your oil. The Drain and fill bolts for you tranny fluid are also located on the left hand side of your ATV. The drain bolt is on the bottom (underneath) of the tranny case and the fill bolt is just above it on the side (larger bolt with the flange). You'll need an oil can pump to inject the 90 wt. oil into the tranny. It is full when the oil begins to flow back out of the filler hole. Don't forget to change the oil in the reverse gear box on the rear axle.
As for trouble with the ATV....we have had none. This thing runs like a top. As for low end and top end power...this quad has both. I think you may be referring to top end speed. These ATV's are not super fast machines. A slight change with the drive or driven sprocket will allow more top end speed.
Good Luck!
